Notice of Public Comment Period: (1) Paso Robles Subbasin State Water Project Supplemental Supply Study Preliminary Engineering Report and (2) Options and Costs (Closes June 22, 2025)

In 2022, the Paso Basin was awarded a grant from the California Department of Water Resources for the implementation of its Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP).

One of the grant-funded projects is the State Water Project Supplemental Supply Study. The purpose of the study is to explore opportunities for utilizing State Water Project (SWP) allocations to the benefit of the Paso Robles Groundwater Subbasin (Subbasin). The Preliminary Engineering Report focuses on infrastructure alternatives and costs, while another report entitled State Water Project Supply Options and Costs has been prepared concurrently with this Report which discusses SWP

availability, water cost, and policy considerations.

The Project is identified in the Paso Robles GSP which was developed by the Paso Basin Cooperative Committee (PBCC) and supported by the five Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs).

Provost & Pritchard (P&P) developed the reports and provided updates at PBCC meetings in 2024 and 2025.

The two draft documents are provided below for review and comment.

If you have any comments, please email Provost & Pritchard’s Terry Erlewine at terlewine@ppeng.com. The public comment period begins today, May 23, 2025, and concludes June 22, 2025.

Sincerely,
Blaine Reely
